1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the SoberHub app or website (“Services”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, please do not use our Services.

2. Changes to Terms

We may revise these Terms at any time. We’ll update the “Last updated” date and notify you of material changes via in-app notice or email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

3. Eligibility, Children‘s Privacy & Account Registration

You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 where required by law) to use SoberHub. We do not knowingly collect personal data from users below these ages.

You can register via email, social login (Facebook, Google, Apple), or anonymously (secure, device-stored UUID).

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account.

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete registration information and to update it as needed.

4. Nonprofit Status & Assignment

SoberHub is and will remain a nonprofit organization.

If we merge with, assign, or transfer our operations or assets to another nonprofit, we will notify you at least 30 days in advance and give you the option to delete your data before the transfer.

Any receiving nonprofit must honor these Terms or a policy with equivalent or greater protections.

5. License Grant & Content Ownership

5.1 General App Content License

SoberHub and its licensors retain all rights to the Services and any proprietary content, except for content you submit.

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to use the Services for personal, non-commercial purposes.

By submitting content (e.g., posts, feedback), you grant SoberHub a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that content in connection with the Services.

You represent and warrant that you have all rights necessary to submit your content.

5.2 AA Materials License

We license AA Materials from aa.org solely for personal, non-commercial use within the SoberHub mobile app. You may view, download, and access AA Materials on your device only.

5.3 AA Materials License Restrictions

You may not reproduce, redistribute, publish, or create any derivative works of AA Materials beyond brief excerpts for personal use. Commercial use, public performance, or online posting of the full text is prohibited.

5.4 Sharing and Excerpts

Our share and copy features enforce brief excerpt limits to comply with AA‘s sharing guidelines. You agree not to bypass these technical limits and to respect the AA Terms of Use.

7.1 Third-Party Content

Each AA book, reflection, or audio file (“AA Materials”) is provided under AA‘s Terms of Use. SoberHub automatically downloads AA Materials from aa.org into your device’s Documents folder for personal, non-commercial use only. We do not claim ownership of AA Materials. If you believe any content infringes AA‘s copyright or terms, please contact us at legal@soberhub.life.

9. Feedback & User-Generated Content

If you provide feedback, suggestions, or user-generated content, you grant SoberHub the right to use, modify, publish, and incorporate it without compensation or obligation to you. You remain responsible for anything you post.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Services are provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SoberHub and its officers, directors, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, use, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Services. Our total liability under these Terms will not exceed $100 or the amount you paid us in the past 12 months, whichever is greater.

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless SoberHub, its affiliates, and their officers, directors, employees, and agents from any and all claims, damages, liabilities, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of:

You agree to use AA Materials and sharing features in compliance with AA Terms of Use. Any violation of AA’s copyright or terms by you is your responsibility. You will indemnify and hold SoberHub harmless from any third-party claims arising from your misuse of AA Materials.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including violation of these Terms.

You can delete your account in-app by navigating to Profile Tab → Delete Account, or by emailing support@soberhub.life with “Delete My Account” in the subject line.

Upon termination, your right to use the Services immediately ceases. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (e.g., license grants, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification) will remain in effect.

14. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Services will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Orange County, California.

15. Severability & Waiver

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
